Incontinence Treatment

Incontinence has many degrees of severity and causes. Pelvic floor weakness or tightness can happen at any age. I have seen teen age girls, pre and post partum women and of course menopausal women.

Instead of being resigned to this and wearing pads when exercising or simply doing life, let us make a customized incontinence treatment plan for you and solve it.

It is much more than doing a few kegals despite what you may have heard in the past.

So many of our population is struggling with this and may be in part due to poor education by the health care system or perhaps fear of what it entails that stops you from pursuing a solution to this.

At Empower, this is what a treatment would look like:

First day we take you through Movements to see where you may have habitual patterns of tightness and or weakness. We assess posture in sitting and standing and what type of breathing patterns you have. We see how well you are able to recruit different abdominal muscles. Also checking if any pelvic asymmetries need to be addressed or spine muscle overactivity.

Then we usually go weekly because there will be a lot of education on alignment breath and pelvic floor and mindful exercises to work on at home.

No two people in our clinic progress the same way we joke its like a peeling layers of an onion back to see the root cause of how you got to be incontinent. Good news you will only ever see a therapist Amy or Jen, we do not have aides or extenders.

We take this incontinence treatment seriously while keeping a warm friendly environment to better learn and support you.

We do not do Internal Pelvic floor work but if we think that is your best option we will refer out.
