Off-Season Injury Prevention Programs

Why is Injury Prevention Important?

The off-season is the perfect time to prevent injuries. When you work out in one sport every day, you use a lot of the same muscles over and over again. This leaves some muscles vulnerable to injuries, while other less used muscles can get weak, causing muscle imbalances. These muscle imbalances are the leading cause of injury.

Below you will find more information about our programs: Off-Season Injury Prevention Program for Athletes and Movement Assessment & Injury Prevention Program for Gymnasts.

Off-Season Injury Prevention Program For Athletes

How does the program work?

This program includes screening tests to look for issues related to mobility, strength, and/or asymmetries in the body that often lead to injuries in the regular season.

A customized plan will be created for each athlete taking the findings from screening as well as the demands of the sport. This is not a speed or agility program, but an approach to finding small issues that can lead to something bigger or more painful down the road.

Some examples of things that may be caught in the screening and addressed by a program like this include: core weakness leading to a “tired back” following sports participation; asymmetries stemming from old sprains/strains that may not have been fully treated; mobility limitations in the spine and/or extremities that are contributing to increased strain elsewhere in the body.

We want to keep the athletes doing what they love best and not sidelined by injuries!

What is the cost?

We charge $500 for 6 one-on-one sessions.

Movement Assessment and Injury Prevention for Gymnasts

How does the program work?

Keeping the specific demands of gymnastics in mind, the program starts with an SFMA movement assessment screen, which will identify where the gymnast needs mobility work and/or strengthening.

Each gymnast will leave this program with a customized program that can be completed at home and/or at the gym focused on the individual issues that may prevent injury and keep them in the gym doing what they love.

What is the cost?

We charge $500 for 6 one-on-one sessions.
